Window Water Testing
Ensure Performance Under Pressure
Our Brand New Service
WISE now offers specialised water testing services to assess a window's resistance to water penetration.
The Testing Process
Our testing process ensures that windows are effectively sealed to the outside elements by simulating heavy, wind-driven rain.
Benefits of Water Testing
Properly tested windows contribute to a buildings energy efficiency, occupant comfort and prevents costly issues such as water and structural damage.
Window Water Testing Equipment
Our team conducts water testing using an AAMA 501.2 Rain Wand, which is fitted with the Monarch Type B-25, #6.030 brass nozzle (AAMA Nozzle) and provides a solid cone spray at an angle of 50-80 degrees.
Compliant With Australian Standards
The Rain Wand is calibrated in compliance with the AAMA 501.2 standard for testing curtain walls and storefront windows in the field. This standard has been adopted by the Australian Standards in compliance with AS/NZS 4284 and AS4420. Australian Standards (AS) 4284 is used to evaluate the overall performance of the system and how the various facade components interact with each other. Water is sprayed onto the facade to test its resistance to water penetration.
Our Testing Method
We use our rain wand system designed for accuracy, efficiency, and ease of use. This tool includes:
- A quick-coupling hose connection
- Adjustable pressure valve for precise water control
- High-pressure output to simulate wind-driven rain
Our team can test windows up to 3.5 metres overhead without the need for ladders or scaffolding, making the process safer, easier, and faster.
Fast, Accurate, Non-Invasive
